Welcome to another exciting year at Crestview High School!
As we begin the 2026–2027 school year, we are entering another year where we are dedicated to “Raising the Bar.” While the phrase may be familiar by now, I hope its meaning continues to grow. Raising the bar isn't about being perfect or comparing ourselves to someone else. It is about looking at where we are today and asking ourselves, “How can I be better tomorrow?”
When each of us commits to improving ourselves, even in small ways, the impact reaches far beyond the individual. Better effort creates better opportunities. Better attitudes create stronger relationships. Better preparation creates greater success. And when each person raises their own bar, we raise the bar for Crestview High School as a whole.
Our students have so many opportunities to learn, compete, create, lead, serve, and grow. I encourage you to take advantage of them. Try something new. Challenge yourself. Support someone else. Be proud of what you do, but don't be afraid to ask yourself how you can make it even better.
We continue to build on our successes and connect our students with the five competencies of our Portrait of a Graduate program. The five competencies within the Portrait encompass the following:
- Interpersonal Communicator
- Integrity-Driven Decision Maker
- Informed Citizen
- Invested Worker
- Innovative Thinker
These competencies were developed by district stakeholders and are ingrained in our daily learning process. Building upon these competencies ensures that students are ready for the world outside of Crestview after graduation.
As we move through this school year, let's continue to build a high school experience that reflects who we want to be.
I am excited to see what this year brings and, most importantly, to see how much we can accomplish when we commit to “Raising the Bar.”
